Gianluigi Buffon rates Liverpool’s terrifying trio highly. Very highly.
The veteran stopper is expected to start in goal for Paris Saint-Germain when his side face Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Premier League outfit beat the French giants 3-2 on Matchday 1 with one member of Liverpool’s front three netting a last gasp winner.
Roberto Firmino secured a dramatic victory in stoppage time.
And ahead of PSG entertaining Jurgen Klopp’s charges, Buffon has spoke glowingly of Liverpool’s attacking trident.
“Liverpool have a very strong team – but I do especially look at their front players,” the Italian great told The Mirror.
“Throughout my career I have always wanted to test myself against the best – and at the moment you really can’t think of any teams in Europe who have a better front three than Liverpool,” he added.
High praise from Buffon.
Mane, Salah and Firmino have forged a lethal trio, creating and scoring goals for fun and this season is no different.
The three attack-minded stars have enjoyed a brilliant start to the 2018/19 campaign.
PSG, though, have an equally destructive front three in the shape of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.
And despite picking up injuries during the international break, both Neymar and Mbappe have been declared fit and will start according to Thomas Tuchel.
