Most Manchester United fans are readily embracing the idea of Zinedine Zidane as José Mourinho’s successor at the club.
It has now been revealed that Zidane was keen to secure the services of three United stars during his time at Real Madrid, according to the Manchester Evening News.
“During an informal discussion, Madrid are understood to have asked to be kept informed of the aforementioned trio’s situations at Old Trafford.”
Of course, United supporters are well aware of Los Blancos’ interest in de Gea, who almost moved to the Spanish club in the 2015 summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Pogba’s temperamental relationship with Mourinho has been a talking point throughout the season, with Barcelona heavily linked with the World Cup-winning Frenchman.
As for Martial, the Frenchman has failed to secure a regular position in Mourinho’s starting XI and is also linked with an exit from the club.
Should Zidane step into the managerial role at United, he will no doubt want to keep all three footballers at the club.
