Sergio Aguero has named Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea as his best friend in England.
The Argentine ace has had a number of duels in Manchester derbies against Spain’s No.1 but the two maintain a close bond off the pitch as they put rivalries to one side.
With Aguero’s son Benjamin living with his mother in Argentina, the Independiente youth product will often be on his own. However, he hangs out with City teammate Nicolas Otamendi and often hangs out with his long-time pal De Gea.
‘Benjamin lives with his mother in Argentina,” he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
He goes to school there. He spends a week here every month. He has a room here and when my siblings come, they stay here too.
Aguero has scored his fair share of goals past his mate, including many derby winners – though De Gea has also denied him with his heroics in between the sticks.
Last season, in United’s 3-2 win over City which delayed Pep Guardiola’s side title win into the following win, De Gea made a jaw-dropping stop to tip Aguero’s goal-bound header over the bar.
The City No.10 and the home fans were ready to celebrate but the 27-year old produced a complete and utter wonder save.
