Ace rapper M.anifest crowned an extremely busy year with a sterling performance Friday night at the plush SandBox beach in South Labadi, Accra.
With a tranquil sea breeze for background, and supported by Kwame Yeboah’s OBY Band/ master turntablist Keyzus, patrons were kept on their very toes with one majestic performance after the other.
Despite the late start of the event due to significant technical hitches, the show kicked off with a set from singer Worlasi, which was followed by soulful Nigerian act Brymo, and then “god MC” M.anifest. Other supporting performances came from Cina Soul of Julor fame, and brilliant DJ Keyzus.
Running since 2012, this is the official end-of -year party for the international hiphop act, and parades esteemed industry colleagues. It is also his gesture of appreciation to his fans for their unwavering support.
This year, like many others, M.anifest has been among the most spoken-about rappers in the country, dominating headlines and being named among the top emcees in the country; notably by international music channel MTV Base Africa.
He also released his fifth project: Nowhere Cool to significant commercial and critical acclaim, including from Damon Albarn, Rocky Dawuni, and Spoek Mathambo. Featuring Dex Kwasi, Worlasi, Cina Soul, Nomisupasta among others, the album has widely been tipped as the best record released this year.
