Thierry Henry has paid the ultimate complement.
Manchester City are already being tipped to win the 2017/18 Premier League campaign at this early stage, and their quest will be strengthened if they can earn a result at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby, this weekend.
Pep Guardiola has plenty of attacking options at his disposal with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling all churning out brilliance on the field.
Not to mention David Silva who’s been hailed as the ‘best creative midfielder’ by Arsenal great Henry.
“He’s the best creative midfielder we’ve seen in this league,” Henry defiantly told Sky Sports.
Henry added: “I didn’t see everyone play, but David Silva wants the ball and plays the same way against every team. He puts his foot in and doesn’t shy away from the ball. He’s brave off the ball and on the ball. What a player.”
And he wasn’t alone.
Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher went one further and labeled the Spanish maestro as the clubs greatest ever player.
“Silva is Manchester City’s greatest ever player,” he said on Sky Sports.
“The one disappointment is his age – how long is he going to play? He’s alongside Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Eric Cantona – he’s one of the greatest we’ve ever had in the Premier League,” Carragher added.
