Ahead of the new Premier League campaign, Jose Mourinho has stoked his fierce rivalry with Arsene Wenger by mocking his decision to sign Alexander Lacazette from Lyon for a club record fee.
Following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s United release, Mourinho was eyeing up plenty of strikers in order to replace his services.
Though he ultimately decided against signing him and has issued a damning verdict on the 26-year-old.
He eventually joined Arsenal for a club record £52 million, and has been handed the number 9 shirt ahead of the new season.
And as Arsenal fans are understandably excited with the signing, Mourinho isn’t worried about his rivals latest recruit.
Via the Guardian, Mourinho reportedly said the following about the player.
“Lacazette was followed because he was top scorer in French football – but a lot of his goals were penalties [10 of his 28 goals last season came from the spot].”
“In the end he wasn’t considered because he has no stamina, no physical impact and isn’t a big-game player,” he added.
The French international bagged a shitload of goals last season, albeit 10 from the spot, scoring 28 goals in just 30 league games, as well as seven in 12 during Lyon’s Europa League run.
